4月17日下午1:30，英语嘉年华的第一个比赛项目“英语演讲比赛”在外语广场正式举办了。
At 1:30 pm on April 17th , English Speech Contest，the 1st event of English Carnival is held formally in Foreign Language Square.
本次演讲没有限定主题，要求选手自己准备PPT，四分钟以内脱稿演讲。比赛共有19名同学报名参与, 由英语111班的何晨灿担任主持人，外贸分院的英语老师担任评委。比赛首先由陆金英常务副院长英语致辞，紧接着由主持人邀请选手依次上台演讲。每位选手在演讲中充分展示了自己的英语风采，主持人幽默的主持风格使现场气氛活跃、高潮迭起。
The contestants are required to prepare PPT by themselves and make free speech without notes in four minutes. Nineteen participants enter for the contest, and He Chencan from English 111 serves as the host with some English teachers from Foreign Language & Trade School as judges. At the start, Lu Jinying, the executive vice dean gives the opening speech in English, and then contestants are invited to give their speech on the stage according to the order of sequence. Every contestant shows their English talent fully. The humorous hosting style activates the atmosphere at the scene .
这次比赛不仅为同学提供了一个展示英语的舞台，而且也给了他们一次锻炼英语口语的机会。
The contest not only provides a stage for students to show their English but also gives them a chance to practice spoken English.
